Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PinPost (the "App") handles information. PinPost lets you pick a place on a map, add a title, note, or photo, and share it as a location card or a photo stamp. We built the App to work without accounts and to keep your saved places on your device. Please read this policy together with our Terms of Service and EULA.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. We operate no backend server that receives or stores your pins, notes, photos, or location. We do not use advertising services and we do not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is created and kept on your device and is not sent to us:

• Saved places — the coordinates, address, title, note, optional photo, chosen card design, and creation date of pins you save.
• Collections — names, icons, and colors of collections you create, and which places they contain.
• Preferences — theme, units, onboarding status, and a cached flag indicating whether PinPost Pro is active (so the App can open quickly offline).

3. Location

If you allow it, the App uses your device location only while the App is in use to show where you are on the map, center the map, and display the distance to a pin. Your device location is processed on your device and is not sent to us. You can use the App without location access and drop pins anywhere manually. You can change this permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

PinPost creates and shares map pins. It does not modify your device's GPS or Location Services, does not change the location seen by other apps, and a shared pin does not represent your real-time presence.

4. Camera and Photos

• Camera — used only when you choose to take a photo to attach to a pin or to stamp with a place.
• Photo library — photos you pick are imported through Apple's photo picker; the App does not get access to the rest of your library. When you save a card or stamped photo, the App uses add-only access to write that image to your library.
• Photo metadata — when a photo is stored in the App or stamped, it is re-encoded, which removes its original metadata, including any location where the photo was actually taken.

5. Apple Services (Maps and Weather)

The App uses Apple's MapKit and WeatherKit. To display maps, search for places, look up addresses, create map images for cards, and show weather for a pin, the coordinates of the place you are viewing and any search text you enter are sent to Apple. Apple processes this data under Apple's Privacy Policy; Apple states that these requests are not associated with your Apple Account. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather (data sources).

6. Analytics and Remote Configuration (Firebase)

We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Remote Config, provided by Google LLC ("Google"), to understand how the App is used and to update in-app content (such as texts on the upgrade screen) without an app update.

• Analytics collects aggregate, non-personal information such as app events (for example: onboarding completed, upgrade screen viewed, card shared, and which card design or share destination was used), session counts, app version, device model, operating system version, language, and approximate region derived from the IP address.
• Remote Config downloads configuration values; to do so it uses a Firebase installation identifier generated for the App.
• Analytics events never include your pins, coordinates, addresses, notes, photos, or your device location.
• Advertising-related data collection is disabled: we do not use the IDFA, and the App does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you.

We use this information only in aggregate to improve the App. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

PinPost offers PinPost Pro as an auto-renewable weekly subscription and as a one-time lifetime purchase.

• Apple processes all payments through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• RevenueCat, Inc. is our subscription management provider. To verify and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes purchase information (such as transaction data, product identifiers, country, and a randomly generated app user ID) and limited device information. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, pins, or location from the App. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

8. Sharing

When you share a location card or stamped photo (for example via Messages, WhatsApp, Mail, the clipboard, or the share sheet), iOS hands the content you chose — the image, the place name and address, and an Apple Maps link — to the destination you select. We do not receive that content. Sharing is always initiated by you; please share other people's addresses only with their consent.

9. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to provide the App's features, to measure aggregate usage and improve the App (Section 6), and to deliver, validate, and restore your purchases. We do not use any information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell it.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you delete it (by deleting places or collections, or uninstalling the App). Analytics data is retained by Google according to our configured retention period. Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies and applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12. Security

Your content stays on your device, protected by iOS data protection. Because we operate no servers that hold it, the primary control over your data is your device's own security (passcode, encryption, and account settings).

13. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding personal data, including access and deletion. On-device data can be removed directly by you. For analytics data handled by Google or purchase data handled by Apple and RevenueCat, you may exercise rights through those providers, or contact us and we will assist where we can.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
